Drake Software 02/06/2012
0 Comments

So it has been a while since i have posted a blog. Mainly because i have been working 54-62 hours a week. My other job at Totally Computers was great, but the hours just got so low it was hard to pay bills, so i had to think about another avenue for income. I got a job at Drake Software in Hayesville, NC. It is a call center for tax software that the tax offices would use. It is a very good company and I'm very thankful to have the job. Everyone there is friendly and made me feel right at home.

Bell Mountain and Para-Gliders! 10/16/2011

Tommy Warman called me the other day and asked if i wanted to go to bell mountain on Sunday. We met at Parkers Oil and we rode all the way to the top in his truck that has 4wd. Along the way we picked up Koo, the owner of Asianos.  When we got to the top, there was about 9-10 para-gliders.  We slowly watched them take off one by one by one.  It's amazing watching them soar around especially when a bird starts circling with them. Always follow the larger bird right?  We had a nice chat with several people up there as we were up there admiring the view.

Totally Computers Moving Locations 10/02/2011

The business i work for, Totally Computers, is moving locations. All last week we have been packing stuff up and getting ready for the move.  We met at the old store Saturday morning at 9:30 a.m.  We packed up all the big stuff on the trailer and brought it to our new location, which is across from the hospital in Hiawassee.  We had some good help with us and got everything moved in quite quickly. Our old location you basically walked into a hallway and went into a room to the right, which is where i did my work.  If you kept walking down the hall you got to our retail sales area.  At our new location  you walk in and it is 16 feet wide with our merchandise for sale, then you walk up to a counter and then i do my work behind the counter. It is going to be a way better location and i am very excited for the new location rush. BRING IN THOSE VIRUSES!

Camping in South Carolina! 09/25/2011

I got a call from Dani Dumont the other day asking if i would like to go camping for Patrick Grahams birthday. I decided i should go since  i had the weekend off and needed a few day break from Hiawassee.  The recommended route from Google maps was going through Clayton down Hwy 76 and your basically on that for about 45 miles. Well my GPS must be "special" because it took me a different route and added an hour to my drive...
I got to the camp site and setup my hammock and it took a whole 2 minutes! so then i built a fire, opened a beer, and sat and relaxed while i watched everyone setup their tents (nice right?). Well anyway we sat around the fire for a while and then we made some hobo meals. Basically hobo meals you start with some foil and put in sliced potatoes, carrots, onions, and anything else you would like. Wrap it up and put it in the hot coals.  Later that night we all walked to the beach and laid down, watched the stars, and talked about random topics. We saw several shooting stars.
The next day i got up at 7 a.m.  and started cooking the bacon and sausage. By the time that was done everyone was awake and i made breakfast for them all.  We sat around the fire until around noon and packed up and headed out.  We went to the bridge below the dam that we were near and i took some great photos. (see photo under landscape section of a river with several stones through the middle).  After that Josh and Cindy went home and Patrick, Dani, and I drove up to Clemson to the State Botanical Garden. They had a great new rock exhibit that had just opened today. We then walked around a pond filled with Koi Fish, Turtles, and other assorted pond life. We then parted ways and went home. What a great weekend!

Introduction To Me 09/09/2011

Welcome to my newly designed website and my first blog post.  For those of you who don't know me my name is Andrew and i do photography as a hobby.  I primarily enjoy landscape and macro photography. The type of landscape photography i prefer is a style known as HDR or "High Dynamic Range". This style is done by using the cameras burst mode to take three pictures at three different exposures generally -2 0 +2. This allows for greater color at different ranges. It basically simulates what your eyes see, since obviously the human eye is more complex than a camera. I like to do macro photos because not many people walk around and look at things close in detail. Macro photos are very close photos essentially very high zoom. I have some good examples of macro photography under the Came
